Ruby Rose says she was hospitalized following complications from surgery.
“I did have a procedure, and I had to have a surgery, but it was fine, and the surgery went well,” the “Orange Is The New Black” alum shared on her Instagram Story on Tuesday. “But then yesterday, I had a few complications, and I had to go to the emergency room.”
A teary-eyed Rose, 35, said she called an ambulance to take her to the hospital, but the vehicle ended up driving around for hours because they couldn’t find a hospital that would admit her.
“They’d been rejecting people all night,” she said. “And my case was quite serious — we stuck it out for a little bit longer, and we were lucky enough to get accepted by a hospital after a bit of a standoff.”
Fortunately, she was able to receive the treatment she needed.
She also thanked healthcare workers for their “amazing” work, and urged fans to get vaccinated against COVID-19.
“Try to keep yourself safe. Try to keep everyone safe. Get vaccinated if you can, please,” she said. “It doesn’t need to be this hard for everyone and I just can’t imagine all the other people that are having way way more serious situations happening right now.”
The actress said that she will be taking a break from social media as she heals.
