Five persons of a family, including a nine-month-old boy, were found dead inside their home in Bengaluru on Friday. A two-and-a-half year-old girl was the only member who was found alive amid the decomposed bodies, the police said, adding that the family members died by suicide three days ago.
“We found out that there were five dead bodies inside the house. But one baby was alive, we don’t know the reason behind this death. We have rescued a baby,” DCP Bengaluru West, Sanjiv M Patil, said.
The dead bodies had started decomposing by the time they were found, the police official said.
The police were called to the house in west Bengaluru after a family member, who had left the house allegedly after a dispute, found them hanging inside the house. H Shankar had left the house almost five days back allegedly after an argument with his daughter who had left her in-laws to stay with them.
After his phone was left unanswered, Mr Shankar visited the house and found his wife (50) and 27-year-old son and two daughters in their late thirties hanging by the ceiling wall. His nine-month-old grandson also died due to starvation, the police said quoting preliminary investigations.
A two-and-a-half year-old girl miraculously survived and was sent to the hospital to check if her health was okay, they said.
